Wherever you are along the north coast of Tenerife you won’t be far aware from a clear view of the peak of Teide, the view is never more special than when the top is coated in snow and the sun is beaming down. Teide is currently a dormant volcano, last erupting in 1909. Teide’s surrounding area, otherwise known as the Teide National Park was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on the 29th of June 2007: subsequently attracting the most visitors of any national park in the world (2.8 million visitors).
